Ever met one of these suckers?

So it happened. I knew it would.

Last week, Greenwich Training had it’s first encounter with a troll.

Hands up though, cards on the table, I had a hand in creating it.

See, the troll actually started out innocently enough, contacting us to find out more about what we do.

Let me explain…

One of the main reasons I opened the studio in Greenwich was to get away from the atmosphere and ethos of your typical gym or health club.

We wanted to create a space free of judgements, where people SUPPORTED each other to work towards achieving their goals. And as I’ve said previously, I reckon we’ve done a pretty good job of achieving that.

If you reckon that sounds too good to be true, check out our NEW video testimonials page and see for yourself.

But creating the environment is only half the battle.

The next challenge is maintaining it.

To do this, we make sure that EVERY SINGLE PERSON who comes to train with us has had a chat with us over the phone, so that we can check we’re a good fit to work together.

And, to put it bluntly, if we get the faintest whiff of attitude, then we’ll politely tell that person that we’re probably not for them.

Sounds harsh, but it wouldn’t be fair on our existing clients. After all, one bad apple…

And it turns out that sometimes people don’t like to be told no.

It can result in a startling transformation, very different to the sort we try to achieve.

From prospective client…to angry troll.

Someone who, up until the point they revealed it, showed no obvious signs.

A ninja troll if you will.

After being informed that we didn’t feel we were right for them, said person took to the internet to vent their frustrations with a 1 star review on our Facebook page.

Some people don’t handle rejection well.

And I’m honestly ok with that. A small price to pay for a troll free studio.

And to work with a bunch of genuinely lovely, driven people who are 100% committed to getting real and lasting results.

People who value our amazing team’s knowledge and support.

Makes it pretty easy to get up in the morning, I can tell you.

So if you find yourself surrounded by suspected ninja-trolls every time you brave a trip to the gym, or the thought of them is what stops you going in the first place, then maybe it’s time you looked for something different.
