The way I see it, you’ve got two options. You can either go into the Christmas party season being extra careful – eating from a Tupperware so you’re not tempted by the Christmas buffet, saying no when the tin of Roses comes around at work, going home early from a night out at the pub with your mates so you can get up early and go for a run.
But that sounds like a pretty rubbish way to spend Christmas, doesn’t it?
How about looking at it a little differently this year – instead of being worried about it, own the fact that you might be a couple of pounds heavier come New Year’s Day, but realise that NO ONE CARES! It’s far more important that you’ve made some happy memories with your friends and family at Christmas time, rather than fretting over how many calories are in a mini mince pie.
I’m not saying this is your excuse to go bananas, but it’s going to take a lot longer than a few days of Christmas celebrations to undo all the hard work you’ve been putting in for months. You’ve now got the tools you need to get right back on track come January, and that in itself should be the reassurance you need to relax and enjoy yourself. After all, you’ll remember the social occasions with your loved ones in years to come far more than you will what your body composition was.
And let’s face it, who really says no to the Roses tin anyway?
